The Czech and Slovak Pavilion in Venice: Reconstruction Begins
In spring 2025, the NGP finalised and approved the project documentation for the construction with the relevant partners, specifically the SNG and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, and the building permit was issued by the competent authorities of the City of Venice.

The Czech and Slovak Pavilion in Venice and This Year’s Architecture Biennale
Based on the negotiations held in 2023, the Czech Republic, represented by the National Gallery Prague, and Slovakia, represented by the Slovak National Gallery, agreed that, in view of the preparations for the pavilion’s reconstruction, the pavilion would not be available for use for the presentation at the 2025 Architecture Biennale.

The Venice Biennale 2026: Czechia and Slovakia Present the Winning Project
A jury composed of independent experts as well as representatives of the National Gallery Prague and the Slovak National Gallery selected the winner of the open call for the representation of both countries at the 61st Venice Biennale. The winning project is The Silence of the Mole.
