Following a new decision by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, we would like to inform you that on Sunday, April 5, 2026, our pernament exhibitions will be open to all visitors free of charge. These include: Medieval Art in Bohemia and Central Europe 1200–1550 (Convent of St Agnes of Bohemia), The Art of Asia Across Space and Time (Salm Palace), Old Masters I (Schwarzenberg Palace), Old Masters II (Sternberg Palace), and at the Trade Fair Palace: 1796–1918: Art of the Long Century; 1956–1989: Architecture for All; 1939–2021: The End of the Black-and-White Era; and 1918–1938: First Czechoslovak Republic.
This is a pilot phase of a project by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, under which admission to selected institutions will be free every first Sunday of the month starting in April.
Free admission cannot be provided for the exhibitions A Dream of Reality: The Paintings of Jan Zrzavý from the Collections of the National Gallery Prague at Telč Castle and The Ballad of a Miner: One Hundred Years of Mining in Art at Fryštát Castle, as these are not properties administered by the National Gallery Prague. The artworks on display in these locations are long-term loans from the collections of the National Gallery Prague; however, admission fees are determined by the respective site operators.
This day thus joins several other free admission days that the National Gallery Prague regularly offers to the public throughout the year.
