Václava Antušková focuses on material analyses of artworks and research into historical painting techniques, specialising in organic and inorganic art material identification using optical microscopy as well as modern instrumental methods. She also identifies the wood materials in artworks via microscopic techniques. Václava Antušková participated in the examination of Medieval polychrome sculptures and panel paintings, and paintings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries (e.g. Slavíček, Čapek, and Filla). Her activities in the National Gallery Prague include the investigation of research projects from the programmes of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, cooperating with other scientific workplaces. Václava Antušková has co-authored impact-factor and peer-reviewed publications, giving regular lectures at conferences at home and abroad.
