The National Gallery Prague will begin the restoration of Albrecht Dürer’s The Feast of the Rosary, a gem of European painting, at the end of August. On the last day of August, the iconic painting will be removed from the NGP’s permanent exhibition Old Masters I at Schwarzenberg Palace, and restoration work will begin. The public therefore has only seven weeks left to see this extraordinary Renaissance masterpiece. The restoration may take up to five years, depending on the condition of the painting and the techniques chosen.
