Alena Štěrbová has worked at the National Gallery Prague since 2017, first in the Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art and, since 2019, in the Public Programming Department. She prepares educational programs and special events for adults mediating art from various angles. She designs exhibitions from the NGP collections and short-term exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. She cooperates with many people and organizations seeking to interconnect various disciplines, contents and artistic and interpretational strategies.
She studied aesthetics at the Faculty of Arts of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and the theory and history of modern and contemporary art at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. She has participated in several funded study trips abroad (Università degli Studi della Tuscia, Fondazione Giorgio Cini etc.).
