Science and Research

The National Gallery Prague undertakes basic research and applied research. The results of such work are published in academic publications, papers at specialised conferences and seminars, or at long-term expositions, short-term exhibitions and the educational programmes for various groups which follow on from these. The National Gallery takes steps to ensure that education and training courses can get underway within the next few years to focus on caring for collections and the administration of museums. Academics and experts handle research plans and projects supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and financed by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic and endeavour to win support for academic projects from European funds.
