One of the most influential curators of our time, Nicolas Bourriaud will introduce his recent reflections on the interweaving of contemporary art, technology, and organic life. Bourriaud gained international recognition as the author of the concept of “relational aes- thetics",, in which he describes artistic strategies grounded in human relations and viewer participation. He also introduced the term “postproduction” to define artistic practices based on appropriation and remix.
Nicolas Bourriaud is a curator and writer, and the author of influential books such as Relational Aesthetics (1998), Postproduction (2002), The Radicant (2009), and Inclusions: Aesthetics of the Capitalocene (2023). He curated major exhibitions such as Traffic (1996), Altermodern (2009) and Planet B. Climate Change and the New Sublime (2022) and was the Artistic Director of the 15th Gwangju Biennale (2024) and curator of the 16th Istanbul Biennial (2019). From 2016 to 2021, he served as Director of Montpellier Contemporain (MoCo) in France, an institution he founded, bringing together La Panacée art centre, the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, and the MoCo Museum. He also co-founded and co-directed the Palais de Tokyo in Paris from 1999 to 2006.
