The exhibition presents three architectural proposals by the finalists of the competitive dialogue for the NGP’s newarchival complex in Prague’s Jinonice. The winning project will store artworks from the Trade Fair Palace while also serving as a technical base and a base for managing the collection. Part of the building is projected to serve as a publicly accessible space with an open archive and a space for lectures, education programmes, and art workshops.
An expert jury, comprising architects and urban planners, was entrusted with conducting the competitive dialogue and making the final evaluation. The NGP was represented by a technology specialist and an art restorer. The jury selected JIKA-CZ, s.r.o. team’s design as the winner, highly appreciating its modern urban-architectural solution, which enables a variant solution and promises the efficient functioning of the first building even before the completion of the entire complex. The storage complex, consisting of several interconnected buildings, fulfils the task with its scale and applied architectural form.
