The Rugged Stand
Date: 01.06.2017 10:00 - 03.09.2017 20:00
Action type: Speciál

The Rugged Stand is a structure that is more than six metres tall and includes an actual kiosk offering refreshments as well as artefacts František Skála will produce in the coming weeks. The kiosk is operated by Prague café owner Ondřej Kobza. The public is able to visit the Rugged Stand for the duration of the František Skála Riding School exhibition at the Wallenstein Riding School Gallery until September 3.

“The Rugged Stand seeks to serve as a meeting point, a centre of unexpected interaction, a place to refresh the visitor both physically and spiritually. It resembles urban kiosks, tobacco stalls and vendors’ stands, but unlike them, it is not an industrialized shop, but an organic hand-made structure. The Rugged Stand brings nature gone wild and architecture gone wild to the tourist plantation of the Lesser Town. Its values are non-pragmatic,” says František Skála about his architectural work.
