Tribute to Milan Grygar - 90th birthday.
Premiere evening will take place on November 16th at the National Gallery in Prague, Fair Trade Palace, 7pm. Free entry.
This evening is in honor of the great Milan Grygar, one of the preeminent Czech artists of the 20th, and now 21st, centuries. Starting with the opening of an exhibition of his classic "acoustic drawings" from the 1960s and 70s, the evening will feature a series of performances directly inspired by his visual works, including the premiere of a new performance, 13 Aphorisms – acoustic drawings of Milan Grygar in movement, sound and light. Mr Grygar will be present for this celebration.
Martin Ježek and Petr Ferenc,
Petr Nikl and Miloš Vojtěchovský.
Master of ceremonies: Josef Cszeres.
About 13 Aphorisms:
In 2015 we saw a retrospective exhibition of Milan Grygar, Vizuální a akustické (Visual and Audible) in Prague City Gallery, and strongly inspired by this work we decided to create a performance which would draw from his acoustic drawings and layout scores and would transform Grygar´s principles into a language of the body, sound and light. With thirteen brief interventions we pay homage to the master who celebrates his ninetieth birthday this year.
Sound: George Cremaschi, Petr Vrba
