The Waldstein Riding School Presents Precious Renaissance Collection Treasures
03.11.2017

A new exhibition Ferdinand II, Archduke of Austria. A Renaissance Ruler and Art Patron between Prague and Innsbruck opened at the Waldstein Riding School and is open to the public until 25 February 2018.

Visitors may admire more than three hundred exhibition items from paintings, precious handicraft objects, Renaissance armour, and valuable documents, including the archduke’s hand-written letter, to products of nature and curiosities from his collections as well as everyday objects of the archduke and his family. A remarkable part of the exhibit has been lent by foreign collections, providing visitors with the unique opportunity to see the artefacts in the Czech Republic.

A rich public programme including guided tours has been prepared. A Studiolo has been built in the exhibition where children and adults may think and create as a Renaissance man. Children aged 8–13 years may enjoy an exhibition tour with special activity sheets with tasks requiring observation, thinking, drawing, and paper folding.
