Robert Schad (born 1953), a contemporary German sculptor who has lived in France since 2000, works solely with steel. Many of Schad’s monumental realizations decorate the public premises in Germany as well as outside Europe. He makes his abstract sculptures suggestive of weightless and dynamic drawings unfolding into space of robust quadrilateral metal rods. The broken curved lines of such „three-dimensional drawings” express body feelings and define and rhythmically articulate the space, in which they are placed. The exhibition presents a selection of the artist’s latest steel sculptures and drawings.
