Donations of the Jana & Milan Jelinek Foundation / 2011

The Jana and Milan Jelínek Foundation has been active on the Czech and Slovak art scenes since the 1990s. It has donated 116 artworks to the National Gallery in Prague significantly enriching its collection of contemporary art.

This year, the Foundation selected the works of nine artists who were part of the elite of the young Czech and Slovak generations. Krištof Kintera, Ján Macko, Martin Sedlák and Šimon Vahala were already supported by the Foundations in the previous years. They are still some of the major personalities of the cultural scene and their art activities display an upward trend. The young Slovak photographer Šimon Kliman is a new face for the Foundation but he is well-known on the Slovak scene. The Foundation also supported other interesting personalities whose art was of superior quality, such as Jan Cileček, Markéta Korečková, Václav Mandelík and Martin Pertl.
