The exhibition St Wenceslas - Patron Saint of the Czech Nation has been organized by the Archbishopric of Prague in cooperation with the National Gallery in Prague. The display will open in late December in the sacral premises of the former Convent of the Poor Clares and Minorites in Prague's Na Františku. The exhibition seeks to acquaint visitors with the history of reverence for the best-known Bohemian saint throughout the centuries. In addition to painting, sculpture and decorative artworks, the oldest objects directly associated with the saint will be displayed. These include the so-called St Wenceslas shoe. Many of these unique treasures were last able to be seen by the public at the St Wenceslas exhibition in 1929. Due to the great value and significance of these rarely displayed objects, the exhibition will not be extended.
