This exhibition was originally held in the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea, and traveling to the National Gallery of Foreign Art, Sofia, Bulgaria and the National Gallery in Prague, Czech Republic.

This year celebrates the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and the Czech Republic. In commemoration, the exhibition Floating Hours: Moon is the Oldest Clock is held in the National Gallery in Prague, to share contemporary Korean art with the Czech public.

The art presented by the contemporary Korean artists at this exhibition will revolve around a theme based on the "flow of time." Regardless of their geographical location, it is interesting that people often speak of time as "flowing." It is universally believed that time does not wait at any place nor for anyone. However, in today's fast-paced world, people are always rushing against time and everything is urgent and accelerated. We easily forget all about the original nature of time with its natural and continuous properties. The artists in this exhibition have created art that respond to time. In their works, time exists as what follows. River: As Time Flows, Water: As Time Spreads, Moon: As Time Fills, Tilts and Fills Again, String: As Time Continues. The visitors can imagine these metaphors of time - river, water, moon, string - with the artworks shown in this exhibition. The artists' conversations with time as seen from their art also refer to their cultural potential and artistic contemplation.

This exhibition will introduce candid and diverse facets of contemporary Korean art in Prague, the capital of Czech Republic and a city where the past and present co-exist in harmony. Visitors will find themselves face to face with different types of art such as painting, sculpture, installation that will remind them of the flow of time and ultimately show them the beauty of Korean aesthetics. The exhibition also features the pioneering artist, Nam June Paik, from whose work, "Moon is the Oldest TV," the exhibition title is inspired. It is hoped that several generations of these contemporary Korean artists, Nam June PAIK, John PAI, Hyun-ki PARK, Hong Joo KIM, Ik-Joong KANG, Yun-Hee TOH, Eunsun HAN, JinJoon LEE, Meekyoung SHIN, YounJoo Ham, will share their artistic spirit with the viewers.
