European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award 2009

Curators: Irena Fialová, Jana Tichá
Coordinator: Radomíra Sedláková

This exhibition of contemporary European architecture – the most comprehensive of its kind – presents the 49 best European structures in designs, photographs and texts as selected by an international jury appointed by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation in Barcelona. Buildings meeting the nomination guidelines, i.e. that were completed in the last two years, designed by a European architect and built in one of 31 European countries are nominated by a large group of independent experts, national architecture chambers and member institutions of the Architects’ Council of Europe. The EU Award for Contemporary Architecture is considered the most prestigious contemporary European architecture prize. The exhibition will include film screenings and discussions with architects on Wednesday mornings.
