The exhibition is a reprise of a photography show organized by Bank Austria Kunstforum Vienna from September 11 to October 29, 2008. The Bank Austria FOTOGRAFIS collection is one of the earliest major photographic collections in Europe. It was established in 1976 and last shown to the public in 1986. This year, Kunstforum displayed 250 top works of international photography (selected from more than 400 collection pieces). The exhibition seeks to return the existence and structure of this outstanding collection - long known only to experts - to the public consciousness. Well-known photographers from the early days of photography in the 1840s up to the 1980s are represented in the collection FOTOGRAFIS.
